Psychologists say that a divorce is one of the most stressful events that a person will undergo in his or her lifetime. It's also an increasingly common event-with more than 1 out of 2 marriages in America now ending in divorce.

It is my goal to make divorce less painful for our clients and at the same time, be more successful in achieving their goals. As a concerned divorce lawyer, I work to resolve the divorce quickly and with minimal animosity, since in so many cases today the former partners will have to continue to have a relationship as parents of children from the marriage.

In today's world, custody and visitation issues are more complex than ever. Mothers are working longer hours; fathers are taking on more responsibilities for the raising of their children, and all the while, questions of what is best for the child become more and more complex. As a mother myself, I take these issues seriously and fight vigorously for our clients and their children.

Every child deserves an equal standard of living between their parents' households, and no person should have a significant financial burden just because they are getting a divorce. Similarly, no parent or spouse should suffer financially due to support payments. I work closely with my clients and the opposing party to ensure fair and reasonable child and spousal support agreements.

A father drinks too much and physically abuses his wife and children. A mother emotionally abuses her daughter. Sadly, these domestic violence situations are not uncommon and destroy many marriages.

A single woman has a baby and is not sure who the father is. A single woman thinks she knows who the father of her baby is but doesn't want to have anything more to do with him, so she files for support from the County. A mother is married, but her husband is not the baby's father. She is worried about parental rights and potential support issues. In all of these cases, paternity law comes into play and can have a significant impact on all the lives involved.
